In 1961, Walter "Grandpa Gundie" Gunderson set up a small wrecking yard just a few miles east of Bellingham. An icon along the region's famous Mt. Baker Highway, Gundie's earned a reputation for friendly, local service. When son Pete Gunderson took over the operation in 1982, Gundie's upgraded its technology and soon began supplying the entire Northwest with best quality recycled parts.
